They broke the mold for judicial temperament and commitment to justice when Joel Wohlfeil took the bench. You couldn’t find a jurist who better combines kindness, fairness, preparedness, and wisdom than he did. Even when his docket was overwhelming, every party left his courtroom feeling heard. I have every confidence that he will bring all those great qualities and more to his service as a neutral. I look forward to working with him to resolve cases out of court as much as I did in court.
- Founder of a San Diego Law Firm
In thirty years of practice in San Diego, I’ve never encountered a harder-working jurist than Judge Wohlfeil, nor one who so obviously cared more, deeply and genuinely, about making the right call. I didn’t always agree with Judge Wohlfeil’s decisions, but I always knew they were born of true effort, principle, and a heartfelt belief in his decisions, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen Judge Wohlfeil make an unjust ruling. The bench’s loss is definitely Judicate West’s gain, and I look forward to many years of mediating before Judge Wohlfeil. He is truly one of a kind.
