ORANGE COUNTY, Calif.; Nov. 12, 2018 – Judicate West, one of California’s leading providers of private dispute resolution services, welcomes experienced mediator William J. Caplan to its exclusive roster of neutrals.

A mediator since 2001, Caplan has successfully handled more than 1,500 civil matters, including real estate, business, construction and employment disputes. He draws upon 40 years of legal experience, including 22 years as a trial lawyer with Rutan & Tucker LLP. Caplan has served as a temporary judge for the Orange County Superior Court since 1988. He also taught mediation courses as an adjunct professor at the Chapman University School of Law.

Caplan has been a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) for nearly two decades and a member of the Orange County Bar Association since 1979. He received a mediation certificate from Harvard University, Program of Instruction for Lawyers as well as formal mediation training at Pepperdine University, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. Caplan received his J.D. (1978) and his B.A. (1975) from the University of California, Los Angeles.
