SAN DIEGO; Aug. 28, 2017 – Judicate West, one of California’s leading providers of private dispute resolution services, welcomes retired San Diego County Superior Court Judge Joel M. Pressman to its roster of exclusive neutrals.
“Judge Pressman earned a strong reputation and a notable track record in the San Diego community during his time on the bench. Judge Pressman has more than 15 years of experience serving San Diego County where he presides over myriad personal injury, business and commercial, professional malpractice and employment matters. First appointed to the Superior Court bench by Gov. Gray Davis in 2002, Judge Pressman served as the Supervising Judge for the North County Branch until 2010. From there, he was the court’s independent trial calendar judge, managing a caseload of more than 1,000 unique civil cases at any given time. He was also on the court’s Executive Committee from 2008 until 2014.
Before his appointment, Judge Pressman practiced law for nearly 30 years as a trial attorney, handling a diverse range of civil litigation matters. He has been a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) since 1992 and has served on the organization’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors since 2012. Judge Pressman earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings School of Law (1972) and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1969).
