Hon. Theodore E. Millard, Ret.
Following 20 years of continuous service on the Orange County Superior Court, Department 35, Judge Millard retired in April, 1999, and is currently available for Arbitration, Mediation and Private Judging assignments. He was twice elected by his peers as the Court's Presiding Judge in 1996 and 1997, was Assistant Presiding Judge from 1992 through 1995, and he served as Supervising Judge of the Family Law Department in 1989. Well known for his expertise in Family Law, he also served on General Trial, Civil Law & Motion and statewide Civil Coordination and Complex Civil Litigation assignments and panels. His extensive experience handling a wide variety of disputes includes all types of business, insurance, personal injury, family law related matters, construction and land use. Judge Millard has earned numerous awards throughout his career from a variety of a legal associations. He has also been an instructor in various CEB programs, a seminar panelist for numerous Bar Association programs, and the author of many published articles on Family Law and Criminal Investigations. A comment we often hear about Judge Millard is, "He will always be known as very knowledgeable and a straight shooter."
