Shirley Knopf, Esq.
| After leaving the Los Angeles Superior Court where she served as probate attorney for 10 years and Judge Pro Tem hearing the probate calendar for two years, Shirley Knopf, Esq. returned to private practice and mediation. In 2004, Ms. Knopf limited her practice to probate mediation where she has achieved a 90% success rate. Prior to serving as a Los Angeles Superior Court Probate Attorney, Ms. Knopf was in private practice specializing in probate, conservator ships, guardianships and trusts. She was certified as a Specialist in Probate, Trust and Estate Planning in 1989, the first year that specialization was offered. As one of eight probate attorneys for the Los Angeles Superior Court, Ms. Knopf advised practitioners on a daily basis and approved or referred their matters to a judge for hearing. She also oversaw the probate calendar for two years while sitting as Judge Pro Tem in the South Court Branch of the LA Superior Court. Her colleagues have reported that her unique people skills and her ability to diffuse anger are responsible for her successes. One comment included “I think it is her unique ability to listen to each party and make them feel valued that is responsible for her high success rate.” |
